The Grosvenor House Hotel are pleased to announce that, in conjunction with Coastal Sound, your local Community Radio Station, the annual 2018 Coastal Community Awards are to be held at The Grosvenor House Hotel on Friday 27th April 2018 from 7pm, featuring superb live entertainment. Proceeds for the evening in support of St Barnabas Home Team & Hospice.

These awards are designed to recognise those who tirelessly give up their time, skills and knowledge for their hard work and community input
The following Categories will be nominated and voted upon by the public over the coming weeks and the final three nominees in each category will each be given free tickets to attend the gala evening on Friday 27th April when the final winners will be announced. Nomination entry form details will be printed in the Skegness Standard and are also available at www.coastalsound.co.uk. Closing date for nomination entries is Sunday 11th February 2018

Volunteer of the Year (& Young Volunteer)
This award will be to recognise some-one who has given their time to provide or support the provision of something for their local community. It could be volunteering to help a single person achieve a better quality of life or working with a group of people, e.g. a local elderly group, a nursing home. The volunteering should be over a period of at least six months.
Community Fundraiser (& Young Community Fundraiser)
This award recognises the work some-one has done to raise money for an individual, charity or a group. It can be by taking part in a sponsored event or having done something individually that has raised money. The award is aimed at some-one whose actions raised money that has gone on to provide benefit to other people.
Carer of the Year (& Young Carer)
This award is for some-one who on a very regular basis provides care for some-one in the community. The person may be a relative, neighbour or client. Care includes any of the following getting some-one up and dressed, cooking meals, washing, cleaning, shopping, getting the person into bed. This list is not totally inclusive. It is one of the two awards that are open to people who are paid for their services. In the case of young carer award, it may be a child who cares for a disabled parent whilst still having to attend school.
Social or Sports Volunteer Award
This award is specifically targeted at rewarding an adult who has helped a local sports team in a voluntary capacity. The person may be a team coach, official, referee (umpire) or a backroom person who has helped keep the team going. Whilst the team might continue to function without this person’s input, their actions have made it possible for the team to carry on even if they did not win.
Social Community Team Award
This award is for a team that have provided a service to their local community. The panel is looking for a team that either has gone above and beyond the call of duty or who has managed to provide a service to people in difficult times. The award is for either a team of volunteers or a team of employees.
